Carl Zeiss CP.2 Distagon T* 35mm T/2.1 ZE Review

You rarely see a review of a CP.2 lens, partly because of its price tag and its cine specialization. Here is a rather test by slrlensreview.com, who tested the CP.2 Distagon 35mm T/2.1 rather extensively.
The CP.2 line is supposedly a direct copy of its SLR line lenses, however the review noted "... we can generalize and probably claim that while both lenses offer superb center resolution, the CP.2 Distagon has a more balanced border performance..``, which is quite interesting.
Full review can be viewed at http://slrlensreview.com/web/carl-zeiss-slr-lenses-51/wide-angle-slr-lenses-93/790-carl-zeiss-cp2-distagon-t-35mm-t21-ze-.html
Also note that the author intends to do a comparison review later on to compare the CP.2 and its SLR counterpart.

Photozone: 50mm Planar f/1.4 and Makro-Planar f/2.0 reviewed

Apple to apple comparison here. Do you ever wonder if you should choose the Makro branding at the cost of 1 stop lens speed? I wonder about that a lot. I know what I would choose, do you? If not, take a look at these reviews of Planar 50mm f/1.4 and Makro-Planar 50mm f/2.0 to decide. They are again tested on Nikon FX (full frame).

Photozone: Zeiss Planar 85/1.4 and Makro-Planar 100/2.0 reviewed on Nikon FX

Photozone just reviewed two popular Zeiss lenses on Nikon FX. They are the Planar 85mm f/1.4 and the Makro-Planar 100mm f/2.0.
85mm is arguably "the standard" focal length for SLR, a superb 85mm is certainly desirable. Is this Planar 85mm f/1.4 justified to be called a superb lens? Look here.
The Makro-Planar is an interesting animal simply because of the Makro branding. Having this branding doesn't mean you absolutely have to use it as a macro lens, however having this branding often means better close-up performance, better bokeh, and better CA control. Are these aspects really better than others? Look here.

About the discontinuation of ZI SW and the German made 85/2 ZM

In regards to the previous post about the ZI SW and Sonnar 85/2 ZM. Photoscala just told us that the Zeiss Ikon SW (super wide) is out of production. There could be remaining stocks at Cosina or Kenko(1 of the Japanese distributors for Cosina). The sales of the German made 85/2 ZM was extremely low (marketing failure?) and production shift to Cosina is not expected.

While the ZI SW going out of production isn't something surprising, I am quite sad to the discontinuation of the lovely Sonnar 85/2 ZM. I hope the Distagon 15/2.8 ZM, being the only German made ZM lens now, won't be the next victim.
